Lensa Canon EF 400mm lens

The picture was made with the Canon 5D mark II and a 400mm-lens. It consists of 1.665 full format pictures with 21.4 megapixel, which was recorded by a photo-robot in 172 minutes. The converting of 102 GB raw data by a computer with a main memory cache of 48 GB and 16 processors took 94 hours. With a resolution of 297.500 x 87.500 pixel (26 gigapixel) the picture is the largest in the world. (stand December 2009)

gun n roses

Maret 1985, Axl Rose eks vokalis Hollywood Rose dan Tracii Guns eks gitaris L.A Guns berencana untuk membentuk sebuah grup yang akhirnya diberi nama Guns N’ Roses. Grup yang didirikan di Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat ini sempat berganti-ganti personel bahkan Tracii Guns pun hengkang dari grup ini.

Album pertama mereka APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION dilepas 1987. Album ini laku keras karena single-single macam Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child o’ Mine, dan Paradise City.

Album kedua mereka GN’R LIES tidak sepopuler album pertama mereka, single manis Patience tidak cukup kuat mengangkat penjualan album ini. Namun dobel album USE YOUR ILLUSION I dan USE YOUR ILLUSION II yang mereka rilis 1991 kembali membawa GN’R ke puncak kejayaan. Dua album ini berisi banyak lagu yang kemudian melambungkan nama Guns N’ Roses seperti: Don’t Cry, November Rain, Civil War, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, dan Estranged.

Album THE SPAGHETTI INCIDENT? yang mereka lepas 1993 nampaknya adalah pertanda berakhirnya kejayaan GN’R. Album yang berisi lagu-lagu daur ulang dari artis lain ini tak bisa meraup keuntungan seperti album-album sebelumnya.

Metallica

Metallica didirikan pertama kali di Los Angeles – Amerika Serikat dengan nama The Young of Metal Attack. Beberapa bulan kemudian grup ini berganti nama dengan Metallica yang konon merupakan gabungan kata Metal dan Vodca. Nama Metallica sendiri sebenarnya adalah nama yang diusulkan untuk sebuah majalah musik yang dicuri oleh Lars Ulrich sebelum majalah tersebut mendapat nama tersebut.

Formasi pertama Metallica adalah Lars Ulrich (drum), James Hetfield (vokal dan gitar), Lloyd Grant (gitar) dan Ron Mc Govney (bass). Formasi inilah yang kemudian melahirkan lagu pertama berjudul Hit The Light, yang kemudian masuk album kompilasi rock Metal Massacre tahun 1981.

Setelah Metal Massacre beredar, Grant dan Ron mengundurkan diri. Posisi Grant digantikan oleh Dave Mustaine dan posisi Ron digantikan Cliff Burton. Formasi ini kemudian pada Juli 1982 mengeluarkan demo-album No Life Till Leather. Demo inilah yang kemudian mengantarkan Metallica mendapatkan agen dan kemudian hijrah ke New York.

Pada tahun 1984, Metallica semakin besar dengan menerbitkan album Ride the Lightning. Album ini bertahan 50 minggu dalam Billboard Top 200. Demi memperlancar promosi mereka juga mengeluarkan mini album Jump In The Fire.

September 1985, Metallica memproduksi album Master Of Puppets. Kembali Metallica masuk Billboard Top 40 selama 72 minggu. Album ini merupakan album yang meraih platinum tanpa single dan video.

Tanggal 27 September 1986, dalam perjalanan tur ke Skandinavia – bus yang mereka tumpangi mengalami kecelakaan dan Cliff Burton (bass) meninggal dunia. Peristiwa ini begitu memukul seluruh anggota band. Bahkan Dave Mustaine yang telah mendirikan Megadeth, mengenang kematian Cliff dalam lagu In My Darkest Hour (album Megadeth: So far.. So Good.. So What!). Oktober 1986, posisi Cliff Burton digantikan oleh Jason Newsted, basis dari grup Floatsam And Jetsam.

Album …And Justice For All beredar September 1988. Disinilah Metallica mulai mengeluarkan video klip. Video pertama mereka adalah untuk lagu One, video ini mencapai nomor 1 di MTV. Keberhasilan ini kemudian mendorong produksi video klip Cliff ‘Em All sebuah video kenangan untuk Cliff Burton.

Akhir 1990 album Metallica direkam. Album ini membuat Metallica mencapai penjualan quadruple platinum dan menjadi album nomor satu di delapan negara Amerika dan Eropa. Serta meraih penghargaan Grammy Award, kategori Penampil Metal Terbaik dua tahun berturut-turut.

Grup ini pada saat ini beranggotakan Lars Ulrich (drums), James Hetfield (vokal dan gitar), Kirk Hammett (gitar) dan Rob Trujillo (bass). Mantan anggota lainnya termasuk Ron McGovney (bass), Dave Mustaine (gitar), Cliff Burton (bass) dan Jason Newsted

The Rolling Stones adalah sebuah band rock Inggris yang mulai terkenal sejak tahun 1960-an masih eksis hingga sekarang. Apabila dianalogikan, The Rolling Stones adalah sebuah batu yang hingga kini masih menggelinding, entah sampai kapan.

Dibentuk di London, Januari 1963. Tetapi sesungguhnya cikal bakal Stones sudah ada sejak tahun 1962 dengan formasi awal yang terdiri dari Mick Jagger (Vokal, Harmonika), Keith Richards (Lead Gitar), Brian Jones (Rhytm Gitar, Harmonika), Mick Avory (Drums) dan Dick Taylor (Bass). Kelak sang drummer Mick Avory akhirnya bergabung dengan The Kinks dbp Ray davies, dan Dick Taylor mendirikan bandnya sendiri yaitu The Pretty Things

Band dengan formasi kuintet ini didirikan oleh Brian Jones (kelahiran Cheltenham, Inggris, 28 Februari 1942). Ia meninggalkan Cheltenham dan pergi ke London untuk membuat grup musik. Sebelum mendirikan The Rolling Stones, Brian sempat bergabung dengan band Cheltone Six (Sebagai pemain klarinet) dan The Ramrods.

Abba band

ABBA dibentuk di Swedia tahun 1973 oleh Benny Anderson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Agnetha Faltskog, dan Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Sebelum bergabung sebagai ABBA, ke 4 personel ABBA sudah dikenal publik musik Swedia. Benny adalah vocalist sekaligust keyboardist dari Hep Stars sementara Bjorn adalah guitarist grup Hootenanny Singers. Agnetha sendiri mulai meraih ketenaran saat mendapat peran sebagai Mary Magdalene dalam drama musikal Jesus Christ Superstar. Sementara Annie adalah penyanyi jazz yang tekenal setelah memenangkan festival tingkat nasional di Swedia sana.

Tahun 1975 mereka merilis S.O.S yang akhirnya menjadi hits tidak hanya di Amerika dan Inggris namun juga di Spanyol dan Jerman. Serangkain hits yang dirilis kemudian seperti Mamma Mia, Fernando, dan Dancing Queen menyusul kesuksesan S.O.S ini. Setahun kemudian mereka sudah merilis Greatest Hits mereka yang pertama.

Kesuksesan ABBA ini berlanjut hingga 1978 saat Benny Anderson dan Anni-Frid Lyngstad memutuskan menikah menyusul pernikahan Bjorn Ulvaeus dan Agnetha Faltskog. Beberapa bulan setelah pernikahan Benny dan Anny, mereka memutuskan bercerai yang akhirnya disusul oleh perceraian Bjorn dan Agnetha. Percerian mereka akhirnya berbuntut bubarnya grup ini.

The Beatles adalah grup band rock dan pop legendaris dari Liverpool, Inggris. Terdiri dari empat personil, yakni John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison dan Ringgo Star.

Sebagian besar lagu-lagu The Beatles yang dibentuk pada 1959 ini ditulis oleh Lennon dan McCartney.

Popularitas The Beatles tidak perlu diragukan, sampai pers di tempat tinggal mereka menelurkan istilah ‘Bealesmania’ bagi penggemar fanatik The Beatles.

Manajer The Beatles, Brian Eipstein, pertama kali mendengarkan The Beatles lewat piringan hitam di toko musiknya. Lalu ia mulai menawarkan The Beatles kepada Decca Record, namun gagal kala itu. Namun tak patah semangat, Brian mencoba ke label Parlophone dan berhasil diterima.

Album pertama The Beatles dengan titel PLEASE PLEASE ME, dengan hit single Please Please Me dan Love Me Do pada 1963. Selanjutnya, album demi album berhasil dihasilkan oleh The Beatles, diantaranya WITH THE BEATLES (1963), A HARD DAY’S NIGHT (1964), BEATLES FOR SALE (1964), HELP! (1965), RUBBER SOUL (1965), REVOLVER (1966), SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND (1967), MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (1967), THE BEATLES (1968), YELLOW SUBMARINE (1969), ABBEY ROAD (1969), LET IT BE (1970).

The Beatles bahkan mampu menjual lebih satu milyar kopi albumnya di seluruh dunia, sebuah prestasi yang sulit ditandingi oleh grup band saat ini.

JACKSON FIVE (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon dan Michael Jackson)

The Jackson 5, Jackson Lima (dieja juga dengan The Jackson Five atau The Jackson 5ive, dan kemudian sebagai The Jacksons) adalah kelompok penyanyi bersaudara yang berasal dari Gary, Indiana. Jacson 5 telah mendapat 2 kali nominasi Grammy Award.

Anggota pendiri kelompok, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon dan Michael Jackson membentuk grup ini setelah mengganti nama menjadi The Jackson Brothers, yang pada awalnya terdiri dari 3 orang saudara tertua. Aktif dari 1966 sampai 1989, Jacksons bersaudara bereksperimen dalam musik R&B, soul, pop dan terakhir disko. Selama karir 6 tahun di Motown, Jackson 5 adalah salah satu fenomena pop terbesar di tahun 1970-an[1].

Jackson 5 memulai merilis single (”I Want You Back”, “ABC”, “The Love You Save”, dan “I’ll Be There”) yang mencapai puncak Billboard Hot 100 di tangga lagu Amerika Serikat. Beberapa single, seperti “Mama’s Pearl”, “Never Can Say Goodbye” dan “Dancing Machine”, menduduki Top 5 hits lagu pop dan nomor satu di tangga lagu single R&B. Sebagian besar ditulis dan diproduksi oleh penulis lagu spesial mereka di Motown, yaitu “The Corporation”; lagu-lagu Jackson 5 yang belakangan sebagian besar dikerjakan oleh Hal Davis. Di akhir 1970-an, Jacksons bersaudara mulai menulis dan memproduksi sendiri lagu-lagu mereka.
